About the Assignment

Region Stockholm is responsible for ensuring that the region's residents and visitors have access to a well-functioning, accessible, and sustainable public transport system. Within the Traffic Administration's investment projects, Spårväg Syd is currently being implemented, a strategically important project within the framework of the Sweden Negotiation.

Spårväg Syd phase 1 is planned between Flemingsberg and Skärholmen and aims to contribute to increased accessibility, shorter travel times, and strengthened regional connectivity.

We are now looking for an Environmental and Permitting Coordinator who will lead and coordinate the program's and projects' work in environmental, climate, and permitting matters.

Assignment Content

As an Environmental and Permitting Coordinator, you have overall responsibility for leading and coordinating environmental, climate, and permitting work within the Spårväg Syd program.

The project is expected to have a significant environmental impact, which means that an EIA for the railway plan must be developed and that several environmental permits are required, including for water activities and encroachments in nature reserves.

System design and construction documentation are ongoing and occur progressively for different sections, which requires good planning skills and flexibility.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the work within environmental, climate, and permitting for Spårväg Syd
• 
  
• Coordinate environmental and permitting work with design, railway planning, and project and program organization
• 
  
• Develop strategies, processes, goals, plans, and routines for environmental, climate, permitting, and sustainability work
• 
  
• Ensure the preparation, review, and quality assurance of EIAs and other environmental-related documents
• 
  
• Create structure and overview of the project's environmental issues and ensure prioritization against set goals
• 
  
• Lead and follow up on environmental and sustainability goals and ensure compliance with the Traffic Administration's guidelines (e.g., Environment and Energy)
• 
  
• Be responsible for the project's Sustainability Plan
• 
  
• Monitor legislation, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder demands in the environmental field
• 
  
• Manage contacts with municipalities, authorities, and other stakeholders
• 
  
• Provide support in sustainability issues during procurement
• 
  
• Ongoing collaboration with IP's environmental strategist and SU's section for Sustainable Development
• 
  
• Support the project organization in sustainability issues before and during the implementation phase

Requirements Profile

• Solid experience in environmental and permitting work in larger infrastructure or community building projects
• 
  
• Experience in EIA work and permitting processes (e.g., water activities)
• 
  
• Good knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and regulatory processes
• 
  
• Ability to lead, coordinate, and structure complex issues
• 
  
• Very good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written

Placement and Working Method

• Work is conducted both remotely and at the Traffic Administration's office in Kungsholmen
• 
  
• Expected on-site presence: at least 50%, according to the needs of the operation and the client's approval
• 
  
• The Traffic Administration provides a computer and workspace
